Anticipation Grows for the Grand Opening of Six Senses Amaala in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is rapidly emerging as a top tourist destination in the G20, thanks to its rich history, culture, and stunning natural landscapes. It offers a unique combination of coral-fringed beaches and sunny weather, attracting international visitors like never before.

Amaala, derived from words meaning hope and purity in Arabic and Sanskrit, respectively, represents a significant part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy. This initiative aims to create a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and a nation filled with ambition. Covering over 1,600 square miles (4,155 square kilometers) of a pristine nature reserve, the area boasts breathtaking coastal scenery, majestic mountains, pristine white-sand beaches, and untouched coral reefs. It’s easily accessible from major cities like Riyadh, Dubai, and Istanbul, and within six hours of travel from Paris, Rome, Berlin, and Mumbai.

Six Senses Amaala promises an unparalleled experience, seamlessly integrated into the region’s natural beauty. The resort features beachfront residences, a hillside village, and villas along a private mangrove bay. These accommodations blend with the natural landscape while maintaining the brand’s commitment to sustainable design.

The resort offers 64 rooms, six suites, 30 villas, and 25 branded residences inspired by traditional coastal villages. Designed by architects U+A and interiors by Studio Carter, these accommodations harmoniously integrate with the terrain, using locally sourced materials. Located in the Triple Bay area, the site offers panoramic views of the Hijaz Cove and the Red Sea. Winding streets and paths lead to charming plazas with glimpses of the blue lagoons of Pura Cove.

One of the standout features is the dramatic Mesa, characterized by overhangs and caves shaped by centuries of wind and water erosion, revealing fossilized corals and mollusks. The village extends to the north, opening onto the long beaches of Hijaz Cove, featuring a beach restaurant and family pool. To the south, guests can explore natural rock pools, pocket beaches, and a mangrove boardwalk leading to a secluded spa in a private cove.

The Six Senses Spa will include a cryotherapy chamber, a longevity clinic, and separate male and female thermal areas with Finnish and infrared saunas, herbal steam rooms, salt rooms, vitality pools, and ice baths. Additional amenities include a Watsu pool, sound dome, yoga platform, and various multi-sensory relaxation areas, all designed to promote restoration and reconnection.

The resort will offer a range of activities based on Amaala’s three core themes: wellness and sports, arts and culture, and sea, sun, and lifestyle. Guests will enjoy the local aromas and flavors at the coffee roastery, bakery, water bar, and shisha tea house. There will also be facilities for children and teens, prayer rooms, and communal lounges. Following the Eat With Six Senses philosophy, the dining options will focus on natural, local, and sustainable ingredients. The all-day dining menus will feature Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences, complemented by a juice bar, fermentation rooms, artisanal ice cream, and a signature restaurant serving Southeast Asian and barbecue dishes.

The 25 branded residences, ranging from three to six bedrooms, are designed to offer a balance of privacy and community while providing uninterrupted coastal views. The central courtyards connect the living pavilions, reflecting the traditional architecture and lifestyle of the Arabian Peninsula.

Sustainability is a key focus at the resort. It features a dedicated desalination plant that protects the coral reefs and a ban on single-use plastics. All wastewater and organic waste will be recycled for agricultural use. The resort’s energy needs will be met through renewable sources, aiming for a zero-carbon footprint. Emphasis is placed on preserving the marine and coastal ecosystems, aligning with the goal to become a top diving and yachting destination.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, highlighted the importance of the partnership with Six Senses. The resort is situated in one of Triple Bay’s most stunning landscapes, with panoramic views of the Red Sea coast. Six Senses brings a high standard of operation, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental conservation and quality, evident in their expanding portfolio.

Six Senses Amaala is scheduled to open as part of the first phase of the Triple Bay development.
