The Welcome
When we arrived, our luggage was taken care of, and we received chilled towels and welcome drinks. Hotel ambassador Beco gave us a smooth tour of the property, showing us the beaches, pools, restaurants, and bars. He also took us to The Oasis for coffee or snacks. Finally, we were led to our suite, where bellman “Mr. Unstoppable” delivered our bags. The O2 Beach Club and Spa staff exude confidence.
The Suite
Located in the Sunset building, which opened in November 2021, our Junior Oceanfront Suite had views of the pool, beach, and Caribbean Sea. The lounge featured a hibiscus flower-shaped mat, a two-seater sofa, and a wicker armchair. The walls displayed a colorful octopus portrait in cerise alongside grey turtles, and behind the supersize double bed was a wall with tropical foliage designs. The balcony, equipped with luxurious sun loungers and electrical sockets, overlooked the white sandy beach.
The minibar was stocked with rum, gin, beers, and mixers, refreshed daily.
The Bathroom
The bathroom allowed us to adjust lighting to fit our mood, offering an invigorating rainfall shower or a relaxing soak in a free-standing bath. Marble effect tiling added a luxurious touch, complemented by ample towels and White Linen toiletries.
The Facilities
Mornings start with a buffet breakfast in Elements, featuring freshly squeezed orange juice, Bajan fritters, tropical fruit, pancakes, maple syrup, bacon, eggs, and sausages. Lunchtime offers another buffet, and in the evening, Elements alternates between buffet and a la carte options.
Oro, with its picture windows offering spectacular views of the South Coast, is the fine-dining venue serving dishes like lobster tails and Mount Gay rum crème brûlée. For more casual meals, The Blue Fin is available. Oro provides a bar and tapas option, perfect for watching the sunset.
The Acqua full-service spa on the eighth floor of the Sunset building features floor-to-ceiling windows, personalized treatments, and Barbados’ only Hamman. There’s also a 24/7 gym in the Sunrise building, well-equipped with bikes, free weights, and various machines.
